Thoughts. Experiences. Inspiration.

I’m so glad you’ve landed here. La Cuisine de Catherine is where I share with you the herbs, spices, and rubs I've been fortunate enough to stumble upon and explore while living decades in both France and in the United States. It's fascinating to be inspired by friends, family and even sometimes complete strangers on such simple, yet so very taste-changing, savory add-ons to recipes.

While herbs are quite common in French cuisine, rubs are a staple of the American lifestyle and spices generally allow us to travel to foreign lands from our own kitchens. Sometimes, while living in one country, it's hard to find the tastes of another. Herbes de Provence, for example, is a French staple that I find difficult to find fresh in California. That's why I planted Rosemary, Thyme and a few other herbs. I learned different methods of drying them and tried various combinations and ratios. Now, they are available for you here.

These pages are in their infancy, with time I hope to share other food-related tasty discoveries. Earlier this year, I learned about Chimichurri Sauce and look forward to telling you about my favorite recipe soon. I'm still trying them out!

I hope to spark your taste buds, adding excitement to your own cuisine, dishes and meals. Take a look around; perhaps you’ll discover new ideas to exhilarate your senses.

Are you ready to be inspired for your future meals?
